On 21 November 2024, a joint research team composed of Professor Jun Lin and Professor Ping'an Ma from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with Professor Zhanfeng Wang from the Department of Neurosurgery, China - Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University, published a significant article in Angewandte Chemie International Edition. They designed and synthesized a novel porphyrin - based metal - organic framework, Fe(TCPP)-MOF, to amplify ROS production to achieve ultrasound-controlled thermal apoptosis of tumor cells
This study not only provides a new perspective for constructing porphyrin-based nanoscale MOFs, but also proposes an alternative strategy for specifically inducing heat apoptosis, which brings hope for promoting the development of cancer immunotherapy.
In this paper, because the crystal particle size of Fe(TCPP)-MOF synthesis is only 180 nm, the structure data cannot be obtained by conventional single crystal diffraction, so it is analyzed by cRED (also known as MicroED technology). ReadCrystal Biotechnology collected a total of 10 sets of data, selected the best quality of the six sets of data combined processing, it took about 7 days to complete the structural analysis.
